This is a short online course (3-4 hours) in which you learn about the most common accidents that can happen in and around your own home.

Sometimes an accident can happen in only one moment of distraction…

Kids are naturally curious and going on adventures is often exciting for them. Whether they are playing around, climbing on chairs, or mistaking a button for candy. All sorts of things can create dangerous situations. Did you know that most accidents happen in and around your own home?

For this reason Livis created a course specially made for young parents and people working with children

This is because we do understand the necessity of knowing about first aid and being able to help out in case of emergency. Many parents have told us that having learned about first aid has made them more aware and comfortable in knowing what to do when  something goes wrong with their children. This course gives you all the tips and tricks you need to prepare yourself for the accidents you hope will never happen.

One of the many things you will learn in this online course:

  • What to do with a (severe) burn?
  • What action should you take if your kid is choking on a grape?
  • In case of a bleeding nose; do you (or don’t you) tilt the head of your kid backwards?

How to sign up easily?

Signing up is easy. After signing up you will receive an email from us. This email contains all the information you need to start the course. After signing in you can start learning today. Our users have told us that the online theory is easy to use. You can easily navigate through the course and the system will keep track of where you are. This enables you to work on the course at your own preferred time.

ABCDE-method: learn everything you need in case of an emergency

The ABCDE-method will teach you what to do when there is an accident. This method is often used by professionals and it will help you to be more confident when providing first aid.

  1. Airway
Learn everything about the airway and spine. What do you need to do in case of an emergency?

  2. Breathing
You will learn about breathing (or the lack thereof). You learn how to ‘look, listen, and feel’ and what can go wrong with someone's breath.

  3. Circulation
What do you know about the circulatory system? Here you learn more about bleeding, shock, and a shortage of blood pumped through the body.

  4. Disability
Get more insights in neurological functions and consciousness. How can you recognize dysfunctions and how can you check if someone is still conscious.

  5. Exposure
Here you will learn to look at the surroundings of the casualty. The surroundings can often help find answers to what happened, which can be important when you have to provide first aid.
